MICHAEL JACKSON IS STILL PUTTING IN THAT WORK

The king's kids will not go unfed. Michael Jackson continues to pull down that paper, to the tune of the largest contract in recording history. His estate has agreed to a seven year contract with his longtime home, Sony, reportedly worth $250 million. Look forward to tons of new and unreleased material from MJ. If his estate plays it smart, as they seem to be doing right now, in time, Michael just might surpass Elvis in terms of building a formidibly sucsessful posthumous sales and merchandising empire.

Good luck.

JAMES BROWN'S BODY IS MISSING

According to his daughter, LaRhonda Pettit, Godfather of Soul James Brown's body has been stolen fron its crypt to avoid an autopsy. Ms. Pettit alleges that his death was under suspicious circumstances. She did not elaborate as to who might behind the theft, but made the following statements,

"I'm convinced his death was suspicious and I want the people responsible brought to justice.", and "He was also hooked on various prescription painkillers. At the very least there were enablers who helped cause his death."

JB died of a heart attack brought on by a bout of pneumonia in 2006. The drug angle is an interesting parallel to the claims made by some members of The Jackson family regarding the death of King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Beezo wants to know what's up!

UPDATE: As it tuns out, this story is a hoax. Ms. Pettit's claims are said to be false according to Charlie Reid, director of the funeral home that hosted the JB's memorial. Brown's other daughter Deana Brown also refutes Pettit's claims stating, "I do not know where Ms Pettit would have received such information".

MICHAEL JACKSON ALLEGEDLY ADMITTED HE WAS ADDICTED TO PAINKILLERS

A video has surfaced in which The King of Pop admits that he was addicted to painkillers. During an inteview, which was conducted by a lawyer in 2003, Michael claimed that he could have been under the influence of drugs prescibed for injuries sustained during a tour. The purpose of the interview was to respond to a breach of contract lawsuit brought by former managers Dieter Weisner and Ronald Konitzer.

Unfortunately, the video, which was released by the British newspaper The Sun, is restricted to U.K. readers only, but hopefully, it willl be available on these shores soon.

MY TAKE ON MICHAEL JACKSON

I haven't bothered to post on the passing of The King, as I wanted to give my thoughts after the memorial service. What with Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce and just about every other still-living celebrity scheduled to appear and pay homage, I only thought it more appropriate to express my thoughts at tht time.

But rest assured, I, like most of you have grieved, and I truly miss him.

Stay tuned.

This TIME magazine cover features a Herb Ritts photo of Michael taken during the shoot for the In The Closet video. I consider that photo series to be the best post-80's images of him ever taken, by the way. Just beautiful.

BONUS BEATS:
Meanwhile, last weekend over in London, MADONNA, his closest peer (and let's not forget Prince, people), also gave it up for Mike during the opening night of her Sticky & Sweet Tour.

Is Michael Jackson Deathtly Ill?

According to the New York Post's Page Six, Michael Jackson is in dire need of a lung transplant due to a rare disorder called Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic disorder that can severely damage the lungs and liver. There's also been some speculation that this might explain his strange behavior of late, but that's nothing new under the sun. What's also interesting about this development is that his publicity team is not denying the reports. I always have, and will continue to love Michael for all of the music and happiness he's brought to my life, and hopefully, this is not some twisted rumor. And all controversies aside, I do wish him well, as I can't imagine a world without him.

Mike Madness Monday: Mike Tyson Blows Up, While Michael Jackson Implodes

There is simply no way to put this kindly, but Michael Jackson seems to have officially lost his goddamned mind, and I fear for the safety of his children. The picture on the right shows Jackson in LA over the weekend, looking like tortured tobacco heiress Doris Duke on a daytrip after a brunch consisting of Vienna Fingers cookies
followed by scotch and Xanax cocktails. (MJ scoop Courtesy of Concrete Loop). In other tales of Mike-madness, it looks Mike Tyson is capatalizing on the bear craze by packing on more than a punch. Does dat big daddy bear look work for you, ladiez?

Michael Jackson, the Muslim: Yes His Ass Did

I knew that Michael wouldn't let us down. In full freak-mode, he now professes to be Muslim. And just in time for a courtroom spectacle that's sure to vie with any holiday football games which are sure to dominate the tube next week.

Michael Jackson Sued By A Prince, Prince Also Sued

Timing is everything. Two members of music royalty are being sued, one by a member of royalty, and one by a fragrance company.

Michael Jackson is facing a 7 million lawsuit brought by Bahrain prince Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al-Khalifa as the result of an alleged deal he made with the pop icon. According to the suit, MJ was supposed to deliver a recording, book and musical package, including the much-hyped Hurricane Katrina charity single, which never materialized. Michael fled to Bahrain after his acquittal of molestation charges, and much has been made of his stint in the Arab country before his return to the US shores last year. The prince has also alleged that he paid off a substantial amount of delinquent bills on behalf of the star, including monies owed on the much-beleaguered Neverland Ranch, which is now in foreclosure.

Prince, the purple one, is also being sued. Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics has filed a suit against him for $100,000, alleging that he reneged on a deal to promote a frangrance which was tied in to the album 3121. Now I'm not one for conspiracy theories, especially of the PR kind, but don't you find it rather interesting that three of the biggest icons of the 80's, including Madonna, are embroiled in high profile legal matters? What's next? Ike's children suing Tina Turner for leaving him?
Now that one would be more like it.

UPDATE: Looks like we can expect more courtroom hijinks from MJ. He says he's too sick to travel for impending lawsuit.
