No Respect

Is it a Chicago thing?

Beyoncé Knowles wants to lend her silky pipes to President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration celebration. But judging from the comments in an item posted on The Huffington Post, it looks like the odds favor Chicago native Jennifer Hudson. Here's a sampling of some of the, er, opinions:

"No. This calls for the real Charlie's Angels: Aretha, Diana, Patti Ka-Pow!!"

"Personally I like Beyonce. But she is a formulated studio artist that has been marketed to maximize dollars. That is what makes her successful. Not her artistic ability, which is nil.I'm just sayin...."

"Beyonce is washed up. I prefer Jennifer Hudson."

"We need CHANGE and B is not change! An unknown with an American Dream story/background who can SANG would be perfect!"

"Marvin Sapp, Yolanda Adams, John Legend. She is only offering because Jennifer Hudson sang at the DNC....typical of her. When they asked her who she endorsed about a month ago, she never really answered the question. She has a album coming out and is looking for record sales....Geez. Go sit down Beyonce"

Dare to dream, Bey.
